Energize Your Network Marketing Biz With These Ideas

by Kim Willis on July 22, 2012

One of the keys to network marketing is to never get discouraged and do not give up. Many of the best network marketers went through difficult times when they started. Understand that you have to build the foundation to future profits and it takes time. Remember that most people quit before making a great income, so keep at it and it will work for you.

One easy way to increase your chances of success at network marketing is to use visualization techniques. Although some people may think this is a lot of hokey-pokey, those who truly believe in its power see measurable results in various areas of their life. Make sure you truly immerse yourself in the experience while visualizing whatever it is you want to improve ” sales techniques, product descriptions, the ability to recruit your sales force or any other aspect of your business. Use all of your senses to imagine that success is already yours, and soon enough, it will be!

Some network marketers think that the more people they’re talking to, the better their odds of success. Well, this isn’t entirely true. You can’t go marketing micro-brewed beers at a local park full of parents and kids. Pay attention to who you’re marketing your goods to, and you will attract many more members.

My best advice is to put quality above all else.  If you’re building a team, look for the greedy and not the needy.  People who have desires, dreams, goals and ambitions (the ‘greedy’, for want of a better word) have a much greater chance of success than people with a bad attitude and with no success patterns.  Avoid like the plague people who have an entitlement mentality – they exist in plague proportions all over the world!

Another tip is to look for people who are already looking for opportunity – you’re ‘looking for the lookers’, rather than people who are set in their ways and lacking motivation and desire.  People with an entrepreneurial mindset think differently to a typical ‘wage slave’ personality.  Your job is to recognise the difference between these two groups of people.

“People don’t care how much you know, but they sure as heck know how much you care.” With this thought in mind, make the commitment to open up a dialogue with your network – instead of just pushing products all the time.

Tell stories about your struggles and successes and keep people updated about the benefits of your projects. Show interest in the activities and plans of those in your network. This will help you develop good relationships, and will help to keep your members motivated.

If you set a budget for your network marketing campaign, make sure that you stick to it. If you plan to spend money on ads, watch the dollars very closely.  Allowing your expenditures to go over budget may snowball out of control if you fall into the trap of convincing yourself that it’s ‘only a few dollars’ and thus not that important. Before you know it, you’re looking at mounting debt.
