How Video Marketing Can Increase Your Web Presence

As consumers, we enjoy watching videos- especially when we get pertinent information in an attractive way. Video marketing can be an effective and compelling tool that can drive more traffic to your website. The only caveat of course, is that while it’s seemingly easy to integrate into niche marketing, it still has to be done right.

Some marketers make the mistake of relying solely on videos to drive traffic to their website, inform people about their product and advance their site search engine rankings.

Others make the mistake of never trying to use video marketing.

The best way to use video marketing is to employ it as a tease to catch people’s attention, get them to stay on your site to learn more and demonstrate something that’s best in a show and tell format.

How Video Marketing Can Work for You

-Video marketing allows business owners to make their point faster, drive the message home deeper, and keep their customers engaged in the process.

-Video marketing sends a more aggressive message about the brand/product/service than written text.

-Good for demonstrations and relationship building.

-Videos can help increase your web niche rankings.

-The advantage of video marketing is that not “everyone” is using video yet.

-Videos can make a lasting and solidified impression about you.

1. What to Consider Before Posting Video Marketing

Consider how much longer it will take for consumers to load your webpage for viewing. Videos use-up a lot of bandwidth. You want videos to keep customers on your website longer because they’re engaged not because they’re watching paint dry. Web users are in a hurry – so imagine how quickly visitors will leave your website if content doesn’t load fast enough.

A general rule of thumb is to use one to two videos maximum on one page.

Think about hosting your marketing videos not only on your website but on other free video search engines. This will free-up space on your website and drive traffic to your niche in two different ways. Some free video search engines include: Google Video, YouTube, Yahoo! Video, Vimeo, Meta Café, Break, and Daily Motion, among others. Consider using more industry specific video search engines if you think this will help your marketing efforts.

2. How to Maximize Your Video Marketing

-Use video on your homepage to capture attention and keep people on your site longer.
-Give your niche customers the option to skip your video. Technologically savvy people like to have options and control.
-Use SEO strategies wherever relevant.
-Promote video. If you host video on your website and also on another video search engine, you’ll want to drive traffic to both.
-Promote your marketing niche website on the video search engine site.
-Give customers the option to share the link to your videos. The objective is to make the video go viral if at all possible.

3. How to Implement SEO in Video Marketing

-Use image tags.

-Use video names that are relevant to the topic.

-Use keywords in your video titles that are descriptive and point back to your site.

-Use anchor text to link your video to other relevant pages on your website.

-Keep marketing videos short. A good guideline is to use two minutes of  video to explain ten minutes worth of written text.

Final Thoughts on Video Marketing

Whatever you do, don’t post drab, monotone video. If you have some information to share via video but know that you have a nasal voice that only your mother could love, hire someone else to deliver the message. Add music, graphics, and slides if relevant and not distracting to your purpose. Videos can help your customer connect with you quickly and help

you in building a relationship that lasts if you make your videos attractive, easy to digest, and keep the content fresh.

Video Marketing for Network Marketers

If you’re a network marketer or affiliate marketer you should use video to promote.  Some people are not confident about fronting a camera.  If so, use a power point presentation, then record the screen with software such as Camtasia.  Another great tool I came across recently is Go Animate.  You can use it to create clever, fun cartoons that extol the virtues of your offer.

Another point is that conventional wisdom is that long videos are a total ‘no no’.  But if you are very good at presenting and selling then the long video format can work brilliantly.  Ace marketers such as David Wood, Daegan Smith and Matt Lloyd regularly record videos of an hour’s duration and more.  Works a treat.

But for newbie marketers the best advice is to film short videos, then upload them onto free sites such as You Tube.  Down  the track you can move onto more sophisticated strategies.
