Yesterday I watched a fascinating video from Rob Fore. This was a no holds barred warts and all confessional about his journey – the good, the bad and the ugly. I love his candour, and as someone who has purchased his SEO training products in the past am happy to say I’m a fan.
Rob spoke about his experiences as a network marketer, about the teams he’s built and the money he’s made. He also touched on the fact that several years ago he was blindsided by cancer, from which he subsequently recovered.
A few years ago he jumped on to a fast moving company (Empower Network) and ended up making over a million dollars. Then the wheels started to fall off.
People in his team stopped paying their monthly subs and the income dropped like a stone. That’s when group ‘stinkin’ thinkin’ gets out of control – team members can move from outreach mode to ‘namer’s blamers’ mode in the twinkling of an eye.
With this happening Rob got some new projects underway and immersed himself in those. Until. Until he got a phone call a week ago from the founder who shared his new vision for the business.
In an instant Rob bought into it, got excited, and made the decision to drop everything (including the big projects he was working on) and go crazy with the ‘new’ EN.
See how powerful vision is? Rob learnt about a new vision for the company, bought into it, packaged it up and then shared it with his tribe, many of whom will do the same thing.
Even though I am not in the Empower Network business I don’t have any doubt that the business will take a big leap forward over the next few months.
It starts with vision.
If you’re not making headway in your business chances are you don’t have a positive vision for the future. Without vision all you’ll be doing is going through the motions of business, but lack the spark to really turn people on to what you’re doing.

“Throughout the centuries there were men who took first steps down new roads armed with nothing but their own vision. Their goals differed, but they all had this in common: that the step was first, the road new, the vision unborrowed, and the response they received — hatred. The great creators — the thinkers, the artists, the scientists, the inventors — stood alone against the men of their time. Every great new thought was opposed. Every great new invention was denounced. The first motor was considered foolish. The airplane was considered impossible. The power loom was considered vicious. Anesthesia was considered sinful. But the men of unborrowed vision went ahead. They fought, they suffered and they paid. But they won.”
― Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead
