Bangkok Nightlife – Not All It’s Cracked Up To Be
When you’re not in the mood it really doesn’t matter where you are…….
There I was last weekend in sexy and steamy Bangkok. My hotel was very close to one of the many nightlife districts.
As I walked down the street I dubbed ‘party central’ I was accosted by girls, guys and um….I think they call them lady boys. I like to call them ‘she-males’. Or to put it another way – they’re not sure if they’re Arthur or Martha.
One ‘lady’ chased me back to my hotel begging to give me a ‘happy massage’. Fortunately hotel guards intervened to save me from a fate worse than debt.
Yet despite all the titillation I chose to pass on all of it. I didn’t even drop into one of the many girly bars to have a drink. All I did was walk, eat and sleep.
I was in Bangkok so I could fly back to Cambodia and get my business visa (which I now have in my hot little hand), and although I didn’t want to go there I decided to make the most of it.
Another thing I did was to meet up for lunch with Aussie expats and members of my mttb team, Kevin and Karen (pic below). We had a long chat about stuff including branding, sales funnels, traffic and list building – four of my fav topics. That was on Saturday.
And whilst I was talking with them I got a spark of inspiration. So after having a tasty Thai meal that evening I rushed back to my hotel – past the whores, the gays and the ahems.
So although I did not partake of any of the hedonistic delights on offer, I decided to use the time to work on a new game plan for my business.
I sat on my bed with pen and paper in hand and started writing. Three hours later I was finished. A brand new game plan for the next 6 months.
And wow! So great to be excited again.
Like I sad last week, it doesn’t matter if you’re in the mood, or not. It doesn’t matter if you’re discouraged, jaded, bored or depressed. All you need is a spark of inspiration to get the creative juices going again.
That’s when magic happens.
Interacting with people is the very best way to get the juices flowing again. But who should you engage with? It’s best if you do it with someone who knows what he’s doing and has plenty of strategies to get almost anyone moving forward.
