Internet Marketing From Home

"I Know That Already" (Sure you do, snigger snigger)

Time to Call Out Do Nothing Network Marketers and Affiliate Marketers

Yeah, I know you do.
If you’ve been checking out the internet marketing scene for a while, I reckon you already know lots.
I spoke to a guy the other night (he booked a consultation with me). He knew it all. But he was still spinning his wheels in a dead end job. With no real hope of exiting it, anytime soon.
Armchair expert, that’s why.
You know the definition of an expert? An ex is a has-been, and a spurt is a big drip.
Get it?
Total income the dude has earned from online activities for his network marketing business in the last three years? Maybe a grand.  But he knew it all.
Reminds me of the joke about Texans with big hats (and not much else): ‘All hat, no cattle.’
So what’s the problem here?  Too many to mention, but here’s a few:

  • Fear – Lack of courage
  • Bias for inaction
  • Obsessed with detail
  • Poor time management
  • No belief
  • Negative
  • Poor work ethic – lazy
  • Addictions
  • Worried about what friends and family will think (most don’t think about you, so why worry?)
Anyway, after talking with him for a while, it became apparent that this guy was a network marketing dope. He wanted me to give him a miracle push button easy way to generate leads. He didn’t like it when I said there’s no such thing. I gave him some awesome ideas on how to build his brand and generate leads organically. But they required work, discipline and confidence, qualities he seemed to be utterly devoid of.
Enough of him.
If you’ve been struggling, there’s a reason for it. Maybe you aren’t like the above example. Maybe you don’t know enough.
Either way, it’s time to step up.  Or to put it another way.  Do a pee or get off the pot!
The best way to move forward? Get excited.   About something.  ANYTHING.
Try this for size:
People are raving about it.  Maybe they’re raving mad.  But I don’t think so.  Chance your arm.  I don’t care how much you know (or how little you know for that matter)
All I care about is WHAT YOU DO
Do this thing,
Kim Willis

  1. Hi Kim,
While I had to smile about the “expert” on the phone, I felt a twinge of guilt, because – although I know the theory – I’m still “working my way” towards earning that full-time income online. I suppose the extenuating circumstance is that I am “working part-time” towards it.
My offline business pays me very well and has taken an expected up-turn over the last couple of years. I’d be crazy to turn away that income, BUT I devote what time I can to my online business so that when/if the offline business slacks off I’ll have the foundation of an online business that I can turn to and build on.
I will plead a little guilty to being obsessed with detail – but I hate sloppy 🙂
Congratulations on your impressive results, it’s inspiring to see what can be done.

    • Hi Joy
      Thanks for your feedback.
You’re taking the right approach by building a good solid foundation for your online business. When the time is right you step into in full time and grow it from there.
      Makes sense to me
