Rob Fore MLSP Spills the Beans

Yesterday I plugged into an MLSP webinar with a guy called Rob Fore.
Rob is a marketing rock star – no doubt about it. Lots of ideas from this webinar, but one of the things that really stood out for me was the concept of modelling.
He said if you EFFECTIVELY model yourself on other successful people you CANNOT fail. To model effectively you need to reverse engineer what others are doing. One way of doing this is to work with your mentor (assuming her/she is successful) and really pick their brains as to what they do on a daily basis.
Ask them for a breakdown of a typical day. Also ask them incisive questions about how they write an ad, or an email, or how they handle the phone. Perhaps you could also talk to them about how they bounce back after setbacks.
Lots of ways to model yourself on successful people, but if you make that a goal you will find that your results will be much improved. Try it.
Other points covered were:
  • You Must Have Clarity of Focus.  The enemy of success is lack of focus.  It’s a wealth killer, and the unfortunate things is that hoards of budding entrepreneuers are not totally clear about their direction and what they should be doing to reach their goals.  Some of the questions Rob said should be asked What will you sell?; Blog or website?; Paid search or SEO?
  • STOP Doing What Isn’t Working.  First sign of insanity is to keep doing the same old things over and over again, even when they are not working.  Why do we do that?  Better to quit and try something else that might work a lot better.
Rob also gave some insights into his favorite lead generation strategy, SEO.  But I’ll leave that topic to another day.
